PRINCIPLES AND CRITERIA
Field testing
Objective: Field tests seek to facilitate that soy producers of every size and kind, and from a wide range of places, try theimplementation of the requirements and make comments about their experiences,to make a final revision based in the practical experience obtained and to produce the first complete version of the P&C of the RTRS.
Length: Field tests start in June 2009 and they endin June 2010. It is important to highlight that the dates are subject to thesow and harvest season of each region, which varies according to the country. In the same way, every test will be carry out during the period of time previously mentioned.
Methodology: Producers who voluntarily want to implementthe P&C of the RTRS, will have to get in touch with the Secretary of theRTRS who will give them the feedback forms and implementation guides to facilitate the data collection process and the standard application.
The producer, who decides to collaborate in this process, should facilitate the feedback forms to the RTRS so that the finds derived of the implementation in field of the P&C act as work input sat the moment of elaboration of the National interpretation guides.
Participants: The P&C have been designed to be used inside a system of voluntary certification. All of them with an interest in the certification should try to achieve it under a commitment of transparency respect to the requirements of this standard.
The producers who can get part in it are those who have a big environmental and social commitment, who would like to work forthe soy to be a sustainable crop, and, at the same time, have a long term vision of access to the European market through the fulfilling of their requirements in this way.
Expected Results: To obtain feedback of the implementation ofthe criterions held in the document P&C to make the necessary adjustmentsin each country and context (geographic, climactic, legal, social and environmental).
Planned field Tests: For the sample for the implementation of theP&C to be diversified and representative of the reality enough, the RTRS will guarantee at least one test in the following producer countries: Argentina, Brazil, China, India and Paraguay.
