Biofuels fail to meet sustainability criteria
The New Scientist magazine published an article about a survey commissioned by the British government that founds that four out of 5 liters supplied at UK pumps failed to meet basic industry standards for sustainability. Manufacturers could not prove that their biofuel feedstock had not been grown by trashing rainforests or harming the livelihoods of poor farmers. Brazilian non-GMO grain producers launch association
The Brazilian Association of Non-GMO Grain Producers (Abrange) was created in mid-August by grain and seed producers, cooperatives, crushing industries, transport and warehousing companies, certification organizations and research laboratories, among others.
