Biofuels fail to meet sustainability criteria
The New Scientist magazine published an article about a survey commissioned by the British government that founds that four out of 5 liters supplied at UK pumps failed to meet basic industry standards for sustainability.
Manufacturers could not prove that their biofuel feedstock had not been grown by trashing rainforests or harming the livelihoods of poor farmers. Nor did they know where half of the biofuels in UK fuel tanks had been grown. To learn more about this article, click here and here
