This is the operational team of the RTRS

Miguel Hernández / Executive Secretary

Miguel Hernández is an agronomist and agricultural engineer from Nicaragua, graduated from El Zamorano in Honduras, with a Master Degree in Business Administration with Emphasis on Sustainable Development from INCAE Business School, in Costa Rica. He was the general coordinator of Ecomercados in Central America, a project financed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO) which main objective was to promote and enhance the market opportunities of the organic and fair trade products from small and medium producers.As Executive Secretary, he has the responsibility for the whole operations of the RTRS Secretariat in accordance with the Executive Board mandates.

Ben Zeehandelaar / Global Outreach Manager

Ben Zeehandelaar has a degree in Business and a Master in Latin American Studies from the University of Utrecht. His Master thesis was on fair trade and he worked as a fair trade consultant in Argentina, where he moved from the Netherlands. As RTRS Outreach Program Manager, he is responsible for all outreach activities in South America, India, China, USA and Europe.
